Showcase

CRAIGPOCALYPSE is my first game published Unreal Engine game. It was made in collaboration with Lukeshardo, who came up with the idea of Craig. I did all of the programming while Lukeshardo created all of the art assets, both 2D and 3D. The game was strictly built to be a solid portfolio piece showcasing my knowledge of Unreal Engine blueprints and C++. I had to get used to the Unreal workflow, and I must say, I really like the engine. There are a few features I wish it had, but overall, it is very solid.

Don't Get Shot is a game that was programmed entirely using a Chromebook using Game Maker Studio 2's Linux beta. This project was a collaboration between me and one of my good buddies, Gareth Horne. I wanted to test the limits of game development on a Chromebook and so far it is pretty solid. The premise of the game is to avoid the crosshair on screen that is chasing you and simply don't get shot.

Probably my best portfolio piece I have right now. All of my failed projects, everything I have learned, has all lead up to this game. Not only is Extreme Tag! a first person online multiplayer experience, the game has different gamemodes, free/paid cosmetics, mod support, and more! Currently, I am working  hard with a team of five to improve this game and add more content. We showcased this game at the Level Up Showcase 2023 event and out of the 100+ games that were shown, we ranked top 8%.

SimpleToons Adventure (2022)
[CANCELLED]

SimpleToons Adventure was a project I worked on with the talented artist Lukeshardo. This game was going to play similar to the Henry Stickmin games, where you have choices to make and each will take you down a different path. The project was cancelled but you can play the demo on Lukshardo's Itch.io page.

Project TFK (2022)
[CANCELLED]

One of my many cancelled projects. Me and a couple of people wanted to make a multiplayer first-person shooter game that would be different from most shooter games today. Due to burnout and the project having immensely high scope, the game never got to see the light of day. That isn't to say developing this was a waste of time. Many of the things I learned from developing this game would help me with my next game, Extreme Tag!

Pine Ridge Boxing is a game that is based off a couple of animations that I made of me and my friends just fighting each other. I thought the whole fighting genre would fit as a game, so I decided to turn it into a game. The game didn't get much attention, but it is still one of my more impressive works. The game's multiplayer was built using Game Maker Server. Unfortunately, Game Maker Server is shutting down by the end of 2023 so eventually, this game, along with Halloween Online, will become completely unplayable.

This game was made during the early stages of the pandemic. This game was based off the Sonic RPG flash series that had a revival during that time with people unofficially working on the 10th and final episode of the game. I wanted to celebrate it by releasing a fan made "Lost Episode" of the series. In a sense, I made a fan game of a fan game. As usual, I got burnt out and couldn't finish the project completely so I just released what was left of it on Newgrounds out of all places.

Super Smash Bros. Crusade might just be my favourite Smash Bros. game even though it's not an official game. When I first found out the 0.9.2 version of the game had limited mod support, I immediately wanted to make my own mods. I got involved with the community and met some really awesome people including one of the developers of the game. The game was built off of Game Maker 8 and since I already knew the GML language, the coding wasn't too hard. I did use notepad to code these mods because the scripts were all .txt files and I has no idea there were better text editors like notepad++ and visual studio code.

I started making this game before I worked on The Lab, but at some point in development, I encountered a game-breaking bug that I couldn't figure out how to fix. I eventually gave up and moved on. A couple of months later, I decided to re-open the project to reuse some code and it turned out the game breaking bug was being caused by a single line of code. It was an easy fix, but my motivation for this game had long died out and I had no intention of continuing development. I quickly patched up the game, added a boss fight and released a small demo.

The Lab (2018)

My first published title that saw some success.  This game features an original story, original art assets and original music (with the exception of a few tracks) all made by me. This game initially didn't get much attention on GameJolt but once I transitioned it from a demo to a full release, the game was featured on the hot game section of the site. It got around 1.5k views and a lot of positive comments. At least three people posted the game on YouTube but, unfortunately, the videos were taken down by the users some time ago.

My first real attempt at an online multiplayer game. Every time I look back at this game I'm always like "I really tried to make an MMO??" Even though the quality of this game is nothing like the stuff I can make currently, it is still a pretty impressive game. There is not much interaction with other players other than being able to chat with them. It was my first game that had a proper inventory system, functional textboxes, and an in-game item shop.

Blockmania (2017)

Another unfinished game, but it does have a decent amount of content in it. It is easy to tell that for this project I straight up copied off a couple of YouTube tutorials. This was one of my first games where I tried to experiment with multiplayer using a high level multiplayer API called Game Maker Server. The multiplayer was functional but didn't have much going on with it other than the fact that you could see other people.

One of my oldest games that I still have. My goal at the time was to make an RPG but because I wasn't skilled enough, I decided to go for a more simple game where the character's main attack was just a basic projectile. This game has many levels and different worlds and even some boss levels. I made a few art pieces for this game, including the main menu. I never got to completely finish this game, but there is more content in this than some of my other projects.
